Phuong, owner and head chef of Ninh Binh, was born in the north of Vietnam. There, she fled from communism to the south of Vietnam. In her journey through Vietnam, she encountered all kinds of different flavors. Because of that she was able to combine the various cooking techniques from northern, central, and southern Vietnam into the food that is now prepared at Ninh Binh.
The name is a tribute to her parents and a reminder of where her family comes from.
