There’s always something to do here! Since the Middle Ages the historic square the Brink has been the city's central point. Napoleon visited it in 1811.
The Schoutenhous is the oldest house on the square. The tower of the Pauluskerk dates from approximately 1300. Also worth a look are the Muziektent, or bandstand, and the Queen Wilhelmina bench, unveiled in 1923 in celebration of Queen Wilhelmina’s silver jubilee. The Bronze Horse (1983), created by sculptor Pieter d’Hont, refers to the water trough for horses that used to be located here.
