The Paardenmarkt Vianen originated in 1271 and this centuries-old tradition still takes place every year on the Wednesday before the second Thursday of October. This year on Wednesday 9 October!
On the day of the Paardenmarkt, a large part of the city centre is transformed into a goods market that turns into an old crafts market and continues until the funfair. In the morning, there are horse inspections in the ring on the Voorstraat where the jury awards prizes. Traditionally, families and friends come together at the Paardenmarkt to chat and eat oliebollen, eel and pea soup. We hope to see everyone again this year at the oldest folk festival in Vianen!
